My name is Gillian McDonald-Constable, and to almost everyone else other than my immediate family, I am known simply as Jill, (sorry Mum!) I was married to Chris, who sadly, passed away in March 2013 following a long illness. We have a daughter Sara (married to Steve) and two grandchildren, James and Melanie.
I have a large garden, with fruit, veggies, and flowers, (some of which are dried to use in my cards). I also have two mad, but loveable little dogs, Miniature Schnauzer girls.
Our 'girls' at eight weeks old. This was taken just before they came to their new home. They are seven years old now, and have changed a lot, they have both had a litter of pups each for us, lovely babies!

I mainly create a variety of Art and Craft items, using card, paper and fabric, not simply the usual greetings cards you may have seen on some other sites. A variety of techniques are used to create my works. I have invested in an electric cutter/plotter, which is capable of cutting almost any shape you can think of, in many materials. Many of my cards have items on them that I cut using this machine,

At present, I am concentrating mainly on my writing. My first, novel, a Western,'The Ghosts Of Poynter'was published by Robert Hale,(Black Horse imprint),in July 2012. The second Western,'Crazy Man Cade', was published at the end of October 2012. Hale are also publishing my next 'regular' Western in Autumn 2015, entitled 'The Secret of the Silver Star'. For Hale my author name is Amos Carr.
'Saint or Sinner' is a Western Romance and has been published by an American company 'Prairie Rose Publications' it is available through Amazon, Barnes and Noble and other outlets, as an e-book or print book. For PRP my author name is Gil McDonald.Although I call it a Romantic Western, it is still quite gritty and covers the subject of domestic violence, (be warned!)
I have recently completed a contemporary Romance and sent the first three chapters to an agent. So, unfortunately, I have not had much time to work on my cards lately. I am still keeping my hand in though, with family cards, and some commissioned work, but if you see anything you want, please do contact me.
If you are interested in reading excerpts from my books, please go over to my writing web site -

Rather than just looking at the cards, why not go to the page marked 'PARAPHANALIA', This is the name I use when selling my wares at craft fairs with my mother, she makes Teddies, in both real mohair, and up-cycled fabrics, and now, we have decided to pool our resources and 'do' some Fairs to see how they go.That is where you will see Mum's bears, as well as some of the things I create which are not cards, but can be made from card, (or paper, or textiles, etc etc.)
Why not also take a look at the 'Works in Progress' page. That is where I will be showing you, sometimes, how I build up, and create one of my cards, or other items.

I have always been a 'crafty' person, and after leaving school, went on to complete a three year Art and Design course, and a one year Photographic course, going on then to complete a three year Honours degree in Cultural Studies, and an M.A. in Writing Studies. I have had short stories, articles and poems published in a variety of magazines and papers over the years, and have put together some small booklets with themed collections of my poetry, which will also be offered for sale later (watch this space!) So if you want a special greeting for a card and can't think what to say, just ask me. You really don't know what can be done unless you ask!

Over the years, and for various reasons, I have often been called a 'witch', and having a very strongly Celtic background, as well as living in the shadow of the very 'witchy' Pendle Hill, what better name could there be for my site really?
This is one of my Christmas cards,
That is my own photo of a snowy Pendle Hill, and a few blobs of glitter added to give that 'Christsmassy' feel.
All of the photographs which are used in my works have been taken by me (unless otherwise stated) and most of the items are completely designed and created by me.
(Everything on this site is my copyright, and as such may not be reproduced without my express permission.)
I class myself as a 'creator of Arts and Crafts', because I don't just make greetings cards, I also create Hand crafted collector's Teddy Bears, charted cross stitch pictures, and various card and paper items, such as - Inspirational sayings and quotes, Notelets, 3D cards, keepsakes, monograms, door plaques, and more, just keep coming along and looking in to see what else is available.
All of my items are hand crafted from 'scratch', including many of the 'toppers' and embellishments (although even I do have to buy one or two things in sometimes!) My design ideas can come from anywhere. Sometimes they 'arrive' fully formed, sometimes they need a good few hours of redesigning, until I am satisfied with the result.
Nature and Her infinite colours and variety of shapes are what inspire me the most. Many of the items I use are from Nature, I use leaves, flowers, feathers, and much of the paper is hand made.
Because of that, many of the cards cannot be exactly reproduced, as colours and textures vary greatly, especially with things like hand made paper, but I will certainly try my best to re create any of the cards you may have seen on the site, as closely as possible.
I am constantly on the lookout for new ideas, and designs, and am always 'doodling' away at something, or sitting surrounded by 'bits' and putting together the numerous 'toppers' used in the designs!
(A SAMPLE OF SOME OF THE KIND OF 'TOPPERS' I PUT TOGETHER,THE LETTERS, SCROLLS, AND COMPOSITE PARTS OF THE FLOWERS, ARE ALL CUT INDIVIDUALLY FROM DIFFERENT COLOURED CARD. THE FIVE LAYERS FOR EACH OF THE FLOWERS ARE THEN PAINSTAKINGLY BUILT UP BY HAND, AND STUCK TOGETHER. FINALLY, ALL THE PIECES OF THE WHOLE DESIGN ARE STUCK TO THE CARD).

As already mentioned, all of the photos are taken by me unless otherwise stated, they include my Mother's gorgeous Teddy Bears, her pedigree show rabbits, and some of her friend's different breeds of rabbits, (and of course my dogs and puppies!)
I also have numerous photos of the birds, insects, and squirrels that visit our garden. Also, the flowers both in my garden, and in the wild, and any landscape and scenery shots taken whilst out and about. Many of these photos will eventually be finding their way onto the site, in one format or another.
(All photos and other items on this site are copyright, and as such may not be reproduced in any way, except by express permission).
If you would like copies of any of my photos, they can be turned into prints for you to use as pictures (up to A4) contact me for details.

BUT REMEMBER - PLEASE KEEP COMING BACK TO MY SITE!

DO LET ME KNOW HOW I'M DOING BY SIGNING MY GUEST BOOK PLEASE.
